- There are some excellent websites which are aimed at women and these websites are usually those created by women.
- Women seem to have a natural aptitude for the Internet and mastering web creation. On the Internet no-one need know whether you are male or female, working on your own or part of a large corporation, unless you want it to be known. This is a field where women can be truly equal.
- As with any work at home, don't assume that because you have built a great website that you will become a dot com millionaire overnight! Also, don't believe the promises that if you purchase a 'turn-key' website that you will be able to retire on the earnings for which you need do nothing except relax and put your feet up: these are usually a scam to get your enrollment or sign-up fees, or else income is rather slower than you could ever expect!
- Building a website takes time, skill and knowledge. Do not underestimate what is involved but these are areas women pick up very well. You need to also be realistic about what you expect to get out of it. A labour of love may produce a tiny or modest income. On the other hand if you set out to make your fortune by making big investments on the net you may end up in debt and with no income to show for it.
- The Internet has revolutionised the way people sell and shop. There are many existing businesses which have converted their businesses to being web-based and have grown as a result. Being realistic, this usually takes about a year or two of having a web presence before turnover via the web overtakes any previous forms of business.
