| Q |
Do you consider yourself a homeworker? |
| A |
Ones home is ones work, there is no difference. |
| Q |
What is the best thing about your way of working? |
| A |
The best thing about it is the freedom to plan both long term and on a daily basis to suit ourselves and to run the business our way.
|
| Q |
What are the negative points about working at home? |
| A |
The downside is the inability to get away from work which is all pervasive. One is available 24/7 to cater for the needs of others and if one is on site then one is working. This can become stressful. It is also difficult to go out together as this needs planning and the employment of a 'hotel sitter'. |
|
| Q |
Why did you choose this way of life? |
| A |
The reason for choosing this way of life was to become fully self dependant and to avoid stress caused by previous jobs. This has been a good move but does bring its own relatively minor problems. |
| Q |
How do you manage to separate work and home life? |
| A |
Time management is certainly a problem as one is tempted to ignore the need for leisure time and time away from the hotel. If one is here, one is working and it is therefore necessary to leave the premises to be really off duty.
|
| Q |
Anything else you feel needs to be said? |
| A |
Potential homeworking couples should consider the possible strain of a husband and wife thrown together permanently when beforehand they have each gone out to separate jobs and have had other different interests. |
