 Q
What do you do?
 A
Web designer and internet consultant, I also run a small business services website.

 Q
Where do you work at home?
 A
Spare bedroom surrounded by 5 Guinea Pigs and a hamster. It gets noisy at times.

 Q
What is the best thing about working from home?
 A
Not travelling saves me time and means I can get a lot more done.

 Q
What are the negative points about working at home?
 A
Not being able to switch off.

 Q
What was the deciding factor to help you to decide to work from home?
 A
Costs and working for myself.

 Q
Do you manage to keep your work and home life separate?
 A
My wife does that for me!

 Q
Does your homeworking pay the bills?
 A
Just about.

 Q
How did you manage financially when you first started working at home?
 A
I was made redundant from my last full time role and we used the cheque from that to start properly.

 Q
How do you cope with distractions at home?
 A
I am highly focused and work to a stringent work plan and list of things to do. It makes me feel that I am getting somewhere crossing things off lists!

 Q
How do you manage your time?
 A
Using a list and diarise slots to carry out particular things. I do a couple of small things usually in the morning to get the brain working then try and stick to my routine.

 Q
How do you cope with the isolation of working at home?
 A
I get out quite a bit to visit clients up town and if I feel a bit down I get on the phone.

 Q
What two pieces of advice would you suggest to someone considering working from home?
 A
Make sure you have at least 3 months salary behind you to cover costs just incase. Get friends and family to understand that you may be at home but you are working and they can't just pop round when ever they feel like it.
 Q
Anything else you feel needs to be said?
 A
In times of frustration and disappointment just remember to plough on, we all take knock backs. Have a business plan which will allow you to target yourself and help you focus on what is working and what isn't.
