Does anyone have any information about this group? They charge a massive fee of £35000 but claim that you can earn £277000 in a year. If this were truly possible it would be worth considering a loan for the fee ...but if it turns out to be largely unsupported, or is any way not what it claims, you are sunk! They do say that you would have to work 40-50 hours per week, but they provide you with the cutsomers. If anyone has any experience or info on this firm I would like to know about it... |

Hi I've never heard of them and I've just had a look at the website, something about franchises. I dont understand why they need £35,000 I dont really know if this is a legit company, but I know if I had £35,000 I wouldn't spend it on this as there is no guarantee you'll make it back and its too much to risk. Sorry aint much help but I'm sure other people will have ideas on this. (Message edited by ready4changes on September 06, 2005) |

Well, iof you have £35000 lying around there are any number of franchises around that you could buy into, and every one of them will tell you exactly what you are buying. This tells you nothing. Forget about getting a loan. This will make them rich, probably at your expense. If they need to be so secretive then one wonders what they have to hide. Ken Home Business Specialist Homeworking.com

I recently enquired twice to join The Franchise Group (TFG) using their website format. Each time it failed to work, other than an initial automatic email response saying, "Thank you for your enquiry. It has been submitted to our Team and you will receive a reply within 24 hours." Also, so soon after their business start-up, TFG have stopped advertising for Senior Franchise Partners, promising them earnings of £877k for a franchise fee of £50k+VAT. Now TFG are asking prospective franchisees for £45k+VAT in return for £277k earnings. Only recently, that franchise cost was £35k+VAT. Confused? Not only has this business not revealed its corporate track record, (it hasn't got one, I suggest) it appears to have hurried to market with teething problems. Why else do the goal posts keep moving? I, too, wonder what TFG are really offering to prospective franchise partners for their money. Furthermore, I remain with no confidence whatsoever in "where they want to be, in say, 3 years time". |

Without seeing the website I'm just mouthing off here - but it sounds to me as if you're saying that they promise an income without telling you what you could be doing - and surely if you wanted to invest in a franchise opportunity, you'd be looking to buy into something that interests you, and you'd LIKE to join and be doing for 40-50 hours per week for example. I know of a magazine locally, for example, where you can buy into the franchise and run the magazine in another area - but surely the work is also based on whether you enjoy it, and whether it'll pay out is really down to your hard work and determination. I think its impossible for them to promise an income and would always be sceptical of things which don't provide you with the full information up front. Kitty |

Well, I have said already that this is not the best idea I have ever seen. If folk really feel they know best and are prepared to send money, large sums of money at that, for some thing unknown, then that is up to them. This does not have any of the hallmarks of a legitimate business offer. It has all the hallmarks of a scam, and an expensive scam too for the victims. I hasten to add that it may be genuine, but from the information available at this point it does not seem that way. Send your money at your own peril. Old proverb; A fool and his money are soon parted. Are you that fool? Ken Home Business Specialist Homeworking.com

Hilary, welcome to homeworking.com. I am not going to go over old ground again, since the posts are all here to be read. These date mainly to 2005, so this isn't anything new, just people fallimng for the same old tricks. Fortunately we have around 5,000 members reading this forum so a lot of people have already been warned to beware of this outfit. Ken Home Business Specialist Homeworking.com
