The number one question asked by most people wanting to work from home is: What job can I do? This is also perhaps the most difficult question to answer, as a job the suits one person, may not suit another.

So I thought I'd start a list of possible self-employed jobs, and leave you to decide whether it is for you, and also for you to work out how to go about it.

  • eBook Publisher
Do you know how to make a Kindle book? PDF eBook? Many people haven't a clue, would pay to have someone do this for them.
  • Website host
There are lots of hosts that offer "reseller" solutions, where you can resell websites
  • App developer
You'll need some programming skills, but if you have them, or can devleop them, then mobile apps such as Android and Apple iOs seem to be the "next big thing"
  • Website design
Can you install and configure Drupal? Wordpress? Joomla? Everyone needs a website. Can you make them work on mobile phone?
  • Author and freelance writer
If you can write, you can easily publish you own book "on-demand" via sites such as Lulu. Write just five pages a day, and you'll have a 150-page book in a month.
  • Cartoonist
It's no joke, if you have the talent, people will hire you at sites such as CartoonStock
  • Cake maker and decorator
It may be just something your enjoy doing, but themed birthday and anniversary cakes can command a decent price
  • Beauty services
From nail technician to make-up artist to hair dresser
  • Ironing service
Can't say I enjoy the ironing myself,,, if only there was a local service
