Dear Mr James Clappison,
As my local MP I urge you to please support the Outworking Bill by being present at the Second Reading on Friday 2nd February 2001. (The Bill will outlaw homeworking scams. See our publicity on www.homeworking.com/bill.htm for more info.)
You may be interested to know that I am the Founder and Editor of Homeworking.com which is a free information website set up to help anyone thinking about working at home. We currently have a worldwide audience of over 1,500 unique visitors each day and many of these are UK based.
One aspect of working at home are the 'homeworking scams' which usually con those who can least afford it. The position of Homeworking.com has always been to NOT "name and shame" the perpetrators of homeworking scams as the operators can just set up under a new name and carry on their activities. We have been working from the other direction and educating our visitors how to recognise these activities and to therefore avoid them and stop paying out money for nothing. Up till now there was nothing to really stop these scam merchants and I am confident that this Bill will make a huge difference.
Once again, I ask you to please support the Outworking Bill by voting for it at the Second Reading on Friday 2nd February 2001.
Kind regards
Caroline Tresman
